About the role We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator to join our QCoal Northern Hub; situated about 100km South-west of Bowen in the friendly lifestyle location of the beautiful Whitsunday Coast of Queensland and only a few minutes from the township of Collinsville. Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will collaborate with a high-performing team to assist with the coordination of all functional safety and training issues on site including the maintenance of relevant records and reports. Some key responsibilities will include: Manage course bookings, onsite training and inductions Manage a team of Training Specialists and Crew Trainers across the site Manage the site data to ensure compliance with the Learning Management System Create and maintain site training plans Maintaining the site training needs analysis (TNA) to identify gaps between current skill, competency levels and required skill levels in consultation with key stakeholders Develop, implement and maintain site training plans with a focus on proficiency-based training outcomes Develop, implement and maintain site training plans with a focus on “new to the industry” engagement Organise training activities while ensuring adherence to all legislative and Thiess requirements Coordination of Emergency Response Team training About you To be successful in this role you will require the following: Prior experience in a similar role - advantageous Experience in managing a large site, complex training needs analysis Strong administrative skills and experience using online training systems Certificate IV Trainer Assessor High level computer literacy Ability to map training packages to recognised competencies (particularly RII packages) Experience with heavy earthmoving equipment (dump truck, watercart, grader, dozer, loader, excavator, rope shovel) and/or a mining maintenance background will be an advantage What Thiess can do for you 5/2 roster Monthly RDO Discretionary bonuses available Fully furnished unit meals provided or living out of camp allowance Thiess’ commitment to ongoing training & development Health & wellbeing rewards program through AIA Vitality Salary continuance insurance Salary sacrifice options – Flights & novated leasing Range of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.
