Job Description Exciting opportunity to work in a leading national transport and logistics company as a Rail Operations Administrator / Coordinator. Reporting to the Rail Manager, the Rail Operations Administrator / Coordinator has a vital role in the Rail team. With a home base in our Operations Hub, the Rail Operations Administrator / Coordinator is the ear to the ground ensuing our Rail Drivers and Shunters are in the right place at the right time to ensure our trains are on schedule, following the operational plan, and assisting in the core rail administration the team depends on. If you have a strong background in operations administration or coordination, but may not have the experience in Rail, we do encourage you to apply - as training in the Rail sector will be provided. Core duties include: Assist in the monitoring and coordinating WA train movements. Assist in determining the most cost-effective train combinations for the freight volumes on a weekly basis Monitor fuel usage for locomotives Allocate rolling stock to the appropriate location to ensure correct balance at each location Monitor and assist with the database on train performance Coordinate various tasks within the rail operations department to ensure the safe and timely management of train services. Desired Skills and Experience The ideal successful candidate will have: Current drivers license High attention to detail and experience in administration based roles A proven ability to work under pressure in a high pace environment A proven track record in building internal and external relationships Strong communication skills Ability to work a roster with start times of 4:00am and 18:00, set days to be discussed.
