Casual Learning Guide position, working across the North West Education Hub Provides English learning support to newly arrived clients and existing students from Burmese and Dari backgrounds. To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria: At least two years' experience delivering information or training in formal and/or informal environments to clients from a CALD background A current Working with Children check (Employee) for Victoria Fluency in Burmese or Dari languages Ability to be flexible and able to work in a variety of educational contexts : one-on -one, small or medium sized groups; formal or informal; and with a range of language abilities and people from different cultural backgrounds Ability to think on one's feet is critical and able to keep a level head when busy Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to treat potential program participants with empathy and sensitivity in a medical environment, and to work with clients from a strengths-based approach Excellent communication and presentation skills Demonstrated capacity to respond flexibly to changing program requirements and individual client needs Excellent time management and organisational skills High level of professionalism appropriate to the requirements of the role Understanding of settlement issues and sound knowledge of services relevant to newly arrived communities Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders Demonstrated capacity to work independently, be highly accountable, as well as being able to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a diverse team in a busy off-site environment Sound IT skills and confidence utilising digital resources Experience meeting strict program, regulations and standards requirements Demonstrated commitment to values of integrity, reliability, teamwork and professionalism consistent with the AMES Australia Vision and Mission Experience working with newly arrived individuals, families and associated stakeholders is desirable Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable To apply for this position please submit: Your current resume Cover letter addressing the key selection criteria outlined above Applications for these positions will be accepted up to 5 pm on Monday, 5 February 2024 however interviews and other selection processes may commence as suitable applications are received.
