About the role As an integral part of the IT Operations Team, the Systems Administrator ensures the stability, security, and optimal performance of the organisation's systems and networks. Responsibilities include maintenance, configuration, resolving technical issues, implementing upgrades, and supporting users for enhanced efficiency. Once up to speed, you will be required to participate in on-call rotation. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain servers (physical and virtual) in diverse environments. Perform updates, patches, and upgrades for optimal system performance. Configure user accounts and access controls. Deploy servers, network infrastructure, and applications. Manage network devices, analyze traffic, and implement security measures. Implement security measures, conduct assessments, and manage data backups. Install, configure, and maintain software applications. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly. Document system configurations and troubleshooting procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement. Participate in on-call support rotations for 24/7 availability. Skills and experience 5-10 years' experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role within an IT support team Strong Networking capabilities - network administration and troubleshooting (e.g. TCP/IP routing, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL certificates management; VPN, IPsec, Open VPN). Experience in Linux / Unix - Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting - Redhat Linux a plus Proficiency in VMWare - installing, configuring and troubleshooting infrastructure (servers, storage, network switches, routers, firewalls and WiFi access points). Experience with automation software, Atlassian tools, and ITIL principles. Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and commitment to learning.
