A consortium between Gamuda Australia and Laing O'Rourke has been awarded a contract to start tunnelling on the Sydney Metro West project. With tunnelling activities underway, the Gamuda Australia Laing O'Rourke Consortium is looking for a Site Engineer to join the TBM team and assist with the planning, procurement and delivery of Electrical works within the tunnels. About the role Planning of work and recourses with reference to work program to ensure timely progress. Tracking of daily progress, productivity and costs and reporting. Maintaining the site SLDs, and electrical schematics, assisting with markups and redline of field wiring changes. Maintaining asset and maintenance registers for electrical and communication networks. Managing project CMMS (MEX) including maintaining assets register, introducing new work orders, preventive maintenance, and tracking defects. Assist with the documentation of the electrical breakdown. Ordering material's and raising PO's in line with the Gamuda Australia PRF system as directed by the Electrical Supervisors and management. Liaising with OEM's, suppliers and vendors to ensure equipment specifications are in line with both project and Australian standards. Assisting the project electrical engineer with Power Quality and Power usage study. Assisting with documentation control, quality control, safety and health, client submissions and scope of work development. Management of critical spares for tunnelling and surface works with store inventory system (WASP). Your skills and experience Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar disciplines. Proven experience working on Tier 1 projects, tunnelling experience is advantageous. Experience managing direct workforce and subcontractors in the delivery of work plans and scope. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team. Construction includes the delivery of 9 kilometers of twin, metro rail tunnels between Westmead and Sydney Olympic Park; excavation of new station boxes at Westmead and Parramatta; earthworks, utilities and connecting tunnels for a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde; a precast concrete segment factory at Eastern Creek; and a services facility, crossover structure and excavation to support tunnelling operations at Rosehill.
