Salary: $87,590 to $97,980 per annum, plus $222.60 per fortnight position loading and 3.5% civil liability allowance, a leaseback vehicle, superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in the above range will be based on skills, knowledge and experience. Join our team and put your engineering skills to work Your new role is responsible for the engineering assessment of development applications, issuing of Subdivision Construction Certificates, Subdivision Certificates approvals under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act/Regulation and the Roads Act/Regulation. About us Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces. About the role Some duties of the role include; Regulate all development activities with regard to Civil Engineering works in accordance withrequirements. Regulate the construction of road and drainage work associated with subdivisions and development application related activities within the Hornsby Shire. Maintain effective communications with other Council staff, Service Authority personnel, subdividers, consultants and the public. About you The role requires a pro-active, enthusiastic person who has outstanding organisational and time management skills. The person will have a minimum sound experience as a Development Engineer.The ability to work independently while fostering a good team environment is also critical as well as acommitment to good quality customer service to assist Council in meeting their service delivery targets. The successful candidate will work mainly in a busy business office environment. Travelling to other related business premises in order to conduct the role is also required.
