Our Opportunity To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a 3D Mechanical Designer to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our design and manufacturing facility in Unanderra, NSW. In this facility we work within a team of project managers, engineers, designers and fabricators on projects large and small. Much of the fabrication is completed on site so we can see our ideas come to life in the workshop. Daily duties will typically include: Designing and modelling equipment in consultation with engineers and senior designers. Creating shop detail drawings and assembly drawings of conveyor equipment. Checking designs for achievable tolerances, clear dimensioning, weldability, and constructability. Preparing drawings for issue to fabricators or project managers. Assist the workshop with design and drawing queries. Measuring existing equipment and recommending upgrades and repairs. The Right Person The ideal candidate for this position would have: A drafting qualification/training Outstanding attention to detail Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor) 5 years’ experience in a design role or related experience Exposure to the heavy steelwork fabrication environment Solid written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in 2D CAD (Autodesk AutoCAD) would be beneficial Experience with Belt Conveyors would be beneficial.
