The Icon Group is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a respected, hard-working and fun legal team to support Icon, Minicon & Barpa. Responsibilities: Provide legal advice that is relevant, pragmatic and of a high standard technically. Understand and support the business’ risk appetite and its objectives. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate in a clear, proactive, and accessible way. Drive compliance with internal approval processes during the tender and handover phase and proactively minimize risk exposure on projects. Ensure compliance with Icon HSE policies and actively participate in corporate governance and policy development as required. Support, promote and advise in relation to Group-wide policies and procedures. Work with other team members to provide training across the Icon Group on issues relevant to the business. Effectively manage external legal advisors. Requirements: Currently admitted to practice in Australia with 8 – 10 years PQE. Knowledge of construction law with in-house exposure to the construction industry Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment. A positive team player who enjoys working in flat structure. Strong commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
