We are seeking a newly qualified Primary Teacher, or a teacher education student in their final year of study, for a 0.6 Graduate Assistant Teacher position. Ideally starting early Term 1, this position will be a fixed term position for the 2024 school year. For the right candidate, this position can be flexible, with the 0.6 hours being conducted across the school week. Duties and Responsibilities With guidance, assist individuals and small groups of students with their learning Conduct student assessments Assist in preparing resources to support student learning Provide verbal and written feedback to the LE Team and classroom teachers on students’ learning With teacher guidance, examine assessments and discuss students’ needs Participate in professional development and compliance training Additional administrative tasks Essential Criteria Appropriate teaching qualifications in a primary education course Evidence of teaching practicums A sound knowledge of the literacy and numeracy K-6 NESA syllabus and an ability to plan for and implement authentic assessment that informs teaching and learning A strong commitment to student wellbeing and to meeting students’ social and emotional needs Demonstrated excellence in communication and writing skills Well-developed time management and organisational skills Willingness to develop as a teacher A current First Aid and CPR certificate and a valid Working with Children Clearance The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals, and attractive remuneration and benefits.
