Role: Senior Safety Engineer Contract Type: Contract Location: Devonport/Hybrid (onsite fortnightly) IR35: Inside Our Client seeks a qualified Senior Safety Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Devonport. This role requires expertise in nuclear safety engineering and compliance within a specialised environment. Role Purpose: The Senior Safety Engineer will provide essential support, guidance, and specialised knowledge to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and licensing conditions related to nuclear activities. Job Role Responsibilities: Preparation of Hazard Identification and Safety Assessment documentation as per standards and regulatory requirements. Identification and agreement upon necessary remedial actions and additional justifications with relevant stakeholders. Quality checking services and management of Safety Strategy documentation against agreed standards. Ensuring produced documentation aligns with operational scopes, timelines, and standards. Advising on safety case implementation, maintenance, and compliance with licensing conditions. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: Academic background: Level 6 STEM qualification or Level 5 with substantial relevant experience. Essential nuclear training: Nuclear Familiarisation Course (NFC) Modules 1 & 2, Introduction to Safety Engineering, Safety Engineering Technical Fundamentals. Experience in engineering problem-solving, safety assessments, and compliance within a regulated environment. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various levels. Understanding and application of safety policies, procedures, and compliance documents.
