Mining - Engineering & Maintenance (Mining, Resources & Energy) Applications are invited for the position of Mechanical Reliability Engineer within the Reliability & Planning Team. Based in Port Pirie, South Australia and reporting to the Reliability & Planning Superintendent, this role provides support to operations and maintenance by applying discipline, engineering principles, tools and skills to identify, analyze and solve problems impacting asset performance. The Mechanical Reliability Engineer is involved at all stages of the asset life cycle and provides a range of technical engineering services to ensure that assets achieve specified objectives and meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Developing and implementing reliability based equipment maintenance strategies and tactics. Developing, maintaining and reviewing mechanical engineering site standards and specifications. Collaborating with maintenance and operations team members to identify improvement opportunities, review current practices and leverage expertise. Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. Facilitating incident, asset failure and asset review workshops including 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Preventive Maintenance Optimisation (PMO). Identifying, developing and implementing cost effective and innovative improvement opportunities. Extracting and statistically analysing asset data from a range of sources including SAP, AMS mobile, Plant Control Systems (PCS), PLC/SCADA, Rt Duet and other systems. Providing relevant technical engineering advice to the business Ensuring engineering and maintenance activities comply with appropriate Australian Standards and regulatory requirements. Providing and integrating both traditional and innovative, structured reliability skills such as RCM, FMEA systems and process modelling to achieve higher reliability and optimise total asset costs of operation. Developing and implementing reliability monitoring systems and reporting processes. Managing small engineering and reliability improvement projects and initiatives including preparation of scope documents, liaising with vendors and managing execution. Engaging and managing relevant contractors and consultants as required. Working with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Successfully completed an undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering that is accredited by Engineers Australia. Intermediate or advanced proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power BI and PowerPoint). Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical maintenance role within minerals processing and refining, mining, oil & gas, or similar heavy industry. Able to demonstrate previous experience using reliability engineering tools and processes including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). Postgraduate qualifications in Reliability Engineering, or formal training in reliability principles and practices through a recognised training provider. Previous experience in data mining and/or data Analytics including intermediate competency in statistical analysis using specialised data analysis software packages and/or MS Excel. Previous experience using Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) tools and software About You To be successful in this role we expect that you will possess the following: Be energetic and proactive yet comfortable with spending extended periods extracting and analysing asset performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
