About the Team The Grocery & Retail team is Uber Eats' "start-up within a start-up", accountable for scaling Uber Eats' new categories including Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and others. As part of the continued push into non-restaurant categories, the Grocery & Retail team is looking for a data-driven strategist and org-enabler to work on high impact initiatives across a range of different topics. About the Role Together with the Strategy and Planning Lead you will support the strategic decision making process for the business and continuously improve the effectiveness of the Grocery & Retail team. The ideal candidate for this role has strong analytical skills, excellent time-management and organisational habits, experience navigating and influencing a large, cross-functional organisation, and the ability to clearly communicate and present information to senior stakeholders. Your Impact in Role Lead our business intelligence function: Sourcing and distilling large amounts of data (financial, operational, competitive), identifying important trends, problems and opportunities and presenting your findings back to the business as succinct, actionable insights Help leadership answer key strategic questions to drive the business forward (e.g. which categories should we launch next? how should we position ourselves vs. the competition?) Support the execution of strategic and cross-functional initiatives(e.g. devising and testing new pricing structures, managing pilots of initiatives) Identify operational opportunities and weaknesses and help improve or create processes to keep our local teams as efficient as possible Develop strategic and analytical frameworks to support the company in new markets and products/ Along with working closely with other members of the Uber team to measure the impact and efficiency of new products and business processes Note: The exact scope of work will be tailored to your strengths and development goals. The Experience You'll Bring Proven track record: Experience in investment banking / consulting / business intelligence / strategy or related experience; some high-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred. Business acumen and critical thinking skills: You'll need to be able to use data and think creatively to identify the highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them. You will need to be comfortable thinking about the big picture strategy but also getting your hands dirty in the detail. Outstanding analytical skills: You can develop actionable insights from complex data sets, and enjoy doing so. You have experience with data analysis, manipulation and visualization tools. You are highly proficient in Excel/Sheets. Strong communication skills: You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesise a lot of information quickly, highlight the key take-aways, and disseminate actionable insights.
