Come and be a part of this success. About the Opportunity BHP is currently offering Auto Electrician Apprenticeships. The program is a 2 years training program based at our Perth FutureFit Academy. Apprentices study to complete a full trade qualification (Certificate III Automotive Electrical Technology AUR30320). You will be paid while you train at FutureFit Academy and become a qualified Automotive Electrician at BHP. While training you will be working a roster of 7 Days / 7 Off / 7 Nights / 7 Off, day shift hours are 6am to 4:30pm and night shift hours are 1:30pm to 12:00am. These are permanent opportunities, and once successfully completing your studies, you will continue your employment with BHP based at one of our mine sites. The training program involves applying knowledge of automotive/ mining electronics, engines, and chassis with the ability to diagnose and repair automotive/mining electrical & air-conditioning systems. As this program contains fast-tracked learning, you will need to commit to attendance, be adaptable to your working roster and live local to the FutureFit Academy. To set you up for success, you will need: A high commitment to safety is a must Have an interest in problem solving and working on the tools Be motivated to learn new skills and knowledge, whilst enjoying a mixture of classroom and hands-on learning Ability to live a safe travelling distance to the training centre - this is not a FIFO/DIDO role (whilst studying at the academy) To have the necessary personal support networks available to assist you in working the above roster Experience working on machinery/vehicles through a hobby or work is highly regarded, but not essential Benefits of Program If successful, you will be paid to study whilst working on industry leading equipment and will have the opportunity to learn about BHP systems and processes.
