Electrician – Royal Melbourne Hospital Your new role Full time position, working a 9 day fortnight North Western Metro Melbourne - region In your new role as a maintenance Electrician you will report to the Electrical Supervisor and ensure that high quality electrical maintenance is provided to all hospital facilities, plant, and equipment. Furthermore, other responsibilities include but are not limited to; Routine maintenance and inspections through a computerised maintenance system Management of breakdowns and repairs Maintaining repair data, including assets, time, safety analysis and material costs. Maintaining and organising spare parts Preventative maintenance General maintenance as required Delivering maintenance in line with legislature, customer service commitments, asset performance, and value for money. Assist building contractors with the knowledge and performance of a shutdown What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role you will have demonstrated experience in Electrical Maintenance in a direct or similar Health care environment. Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures, hospital asset management systems, and proactive stakeholder engagement competencies. Furthermore, you will need; Essential qualifications A Grade licence White card Valid drivers licence Essential experience Ability to fault find and diagnose maintenance issues Highly personable and competent customer service skills Demonstrated understanding of safe work practices, safe access, and permit systems Experience using computerised maintenance management systems Desirable experience Fault finding experience with PLC’s and VSD’s A positive and forward-thinking mindset that uses initiative to make further recommendations for alterations or improvements An ability to provide technical guidance as required to multiple stakeholders Proficiency at working under pressure and to deadline Immediate communicative efficacy to notify the appropriate person/s of defects requiring maintenance Maintenance of tools in a serviceable and secure condition Understand and abide by all OHS procedures and policies Report any observed hazards and take appropriate safety precautions in an emergency What you'll get in return Work hours of 6:00am – 2:45pm or 9:00am – 5:45 pm Salary in alignment with industry standard awards Flexibility with vehicle usage (claim mileage, or use the company vehicle if offsite travel is required) Reasonable overtime (roughly 4 hours per fortnight) Participation in a 24/7 on call roster (roughly one out of every 4 weeks) Stable and well supported work environment Annual leave and sick leave Emphasis on employee wellbeing and a balanced lifestyle The RMH is proud to be a workplace that champions diversity, inclusion and equality for our staff and our community.
