About the role In this role, you will coordinate and assess the applications of third party’s seeking to work within the City’s road reserve to ensure works are implemented consistent with best practice and key travel routes remain available for public use. Work type: Permanent, full-time Classification: Band 6 ($90,263 - $97,365) Key responsibilities include: Assessing applications from 3 rd parties to work with the City’s Road Reserves and issuing approval where appropriate. Coordinate and assess applications of transport operators to use the City’s Road Network at higher mass and dimension limits. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on issues relating to network availability and vehicle restrictions based on infrastructure capacity constraints. Undertake various engineering related projects involving investigation, research, generation and assessment of alternatives and production of reports recommending appropriate courses of action. Provide timely and accurate advice including letters and reports to senior staff and internal and external customers. Supervise contractors engaged in general engineering studies and investigations. Provide support to the wider team to ensure the effective operation and success of the Department as a whole. Provide positive and informative customer service with members of the community. About you To be successful in this role you will have general experience within civil engineering, with understanding of the legislative requirements relating to construction activities, particularly related to a safety culture. Essential Experience: Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to translate technical information into plain English in both written and verbal form. Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills. Ability to assess, prioritise and schedule conflicting road access needs. Strong conceptual skills with experience in conducting research, analysing data, and synthesising results into tangible plans and outcomes. Undergraduate / Post Graduate studies in Civil Engineering (desirable). Technical qualification related to Civil Construction (desirable). The health and safety of our people is our highest priority.
