MCS Consulting is seeking an Application Engineer to join the client’s Product Management and Marketing team. As an application engineer you will be bridging between the R&D, product management teams and customers by being responsible for successful introduction and initial deployment of new products and solutions. You will also be responsible for managing pre-release field trials of new products and solutions working with key customers on site and other teams to achieve the desired outcome. The job requires travelling to site with the Customer Service Team. You will be involved in defining product improvements (hardware and software) that align with customer requirements, internal feedback, emerging market trends, and ideas as well as the competitive landscape. You will assist product management in communicating to customers both product retirement plans and introduction of new products that are meeting the needs of customers who rely on the company’s solutions for the safe and productive operation of their mines. You will work closely with other departments during all phases of Innovation and Lifecycle projects whilst maintaining responsibility for successful deployment of products and solutions. The Product Domain requires experience with enterprise applications software and intrinsically safe electronics products including wireless communications, location and collision avoidance systems. The candidate should be able to install complex software and write scripts on linux. You will be expected to contribute your expertise to the evolution of the NPI process with a softer handover between R&D and Sales. Performance and Technical Expertise Accountable for successful new product introduction from field trials to on-site deployment and operational success with the customer. Contribute to the Product Roadmap Ensuring deliverables are met on time and budget Competitor product evaluations Writing of product requirements. Contribute to the creation of new or custom reports, dashboards and solution configurations. Assist with business justifications Act as product and solution SME to internal teams in level 3 support. Active participation in new product development projects Supporting sales and technical teams with customer relationship building activities Developing and delivering technical and commercial documentation Managing product release to the regions including training and documentation Representing the company at industry events Knowledge and experience required Education/Credentials Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a Computer Science, Electronic engineering or related subject or Mining Engineering A minimum of three years experience as an application engineer working with enterprise level software and hardware solutions preferably for the mining or manufacturing productivity market Demonstrable history of product introduction and deployment of commercially successful software and hardware solutions Be able to clearly and effectively lead through collaboration and influence the introduction of new products from concept to lifecycle Excellent communication skills and the ability to be able to effectively interact with all stakeholders both internal and external both orally and by formal presentation The Benefits: The support of an industry leading knowledgeable and enthusiastic team EAP service to support your wellbeing Generous remuneration and staff incentives Ongoing training and development The opportunity to grow within the company Recognition for your hard work This role is based in the Brisbane office and is unsuitable for remote workers .
