Role Details Reporting to the Technical Services Manager at Agnew, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations. In compliance with site Environmental and Safety Standards, you will be responsible for all mining aspects including the development and implementation of plans in line with short to medium term planning targets. This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth. Benefits include: 6% Site Allowance & Private Health Insurance Allowance Annual Bonus Scheme & long term incentive plan Virgin Velocity reward points Continual training and ability to expand your career Salary Sacrifice options About the role: The development and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with operational targets; Managing the design of stopes and subsequent drill and blast plans to maintain minimal dilution and maximum recovery; Ensure business success by developing, implementing, and recording mine information to ensure safe and economic target delivery; Knowledge of end of month preparations and compliance reports; Reconciliation of mined plan versus actual to identify improvement areas; Direct and lead all members of the production team and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication. This will include co-ordinating the training and mentoring of the Production and Graduate Engineers; Actively identifying risks and threats to safely achieving targets and develop, establish and manage programs to ensure risk elimination/minimisation; Apprising the Underground Manager of issues that may affect safe and efficient production through frequent communication in an appropriate manner; Enhancing the capability of the business to achieve improved performance and growth by actively contributing to business and cultural improvement initiatives, encouraging team members to participate and identify barriers to goal achievement; Promoting and enforcing the use of standard design practices & processes; Promoting continuous improvement within the Technical Services Department; Monitoring and reporting on progress of Actual vs. Schedule and Budget (physicals, costs) performance; Act as the Deputy Underground Manager when required. About you: WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency is desirable Degree qualification in Mining Engineering Supervisory or Management Training Experience mentoring and developing a team of Mining Engineers Solid underground engineering experience, with exposure to all production phases, preferably gold Valid Driver's Licence Exposure to Microsoft office and mining software, Deswik would be highly regarded Applications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/Australia Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
