Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Gruyere was commissioned in 2019 and is one of Australia's largest and lowest-cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000 ounces per annum with an enviable production profile over 10 years. Role Details: Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the provision of a qualified geotechnical support service within the mine that will assist in the achievement of budgeted development, production, and meeting all quality standards including safety, cost, and environment. This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region. Benefits include: 6% Site Allowance & Private Health Insurance Allowance & Quarterly Bonus Scheme Virgin Velocity reward points Salary sacrifice options Increased leave entitlements for annual leave, paid primary and secondary parental leave Long service leave pro rata after 5 years of continuous service Educational assistance About the role: Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems' standards by developing and participating in initiatives; leading toolbox meetings; investigations; training; assisting with the implementation; and participating in and contributing to audits. Provide a geotechnical service to the mine through understanding, complying, mentoring, and liaising with business partners to promote full statutory compliance with mining regulations, legislation and company safety objectives relevant to ground control. Collect and analyse geotechnical data including investigation, analysis of rock fall events and ground control issues. Undertake daily production tasks relating to geotechnical engineering including mine plans, blasting plans, survey instructions, documentation of inspections and data collection, monitoring, analysis and QAQC. Actively identify and manage geotechnical risks and develop systems to monitor and manage these. Ensure QAQC, hazard maps &/or monitoring reports are compiled and issued monthly. About you: Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnics, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology. Demonstrated experience in Geotechnical Engineering. Proven geotechnical experience in an open cut mining environment. Working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
