The Role We are currently have a great opportunity for a Process Engineer to join the Cargill Agriculture & Supply Chain (CASC) team at our Newcastle site. Job Purpose and Impact The oilseed processing facility in Newcastle consists of seed receival and storage, preparation, extraction, refining, packaging, tank storage facility, truck loading, shipping terminal, and the necessary utilities and infrastructure. In this diverse and hands on role, you will provide technical support for the day-to-day Crush Plant (incorporating Seed Preparation and Oil Extraction) production and operating processes, troubleshoot, and resolve issues and identify continuous improvement opportunities, with a focus on automation. Key Accountabilities Assist and support the Plant Operators, Production Engineers and Supervisor, and the Plant Manager in the day-to-day operational duties and project plans Ensure manufacturing equipment and processes are efficient and cost-effective to promote quality and reliability Conduct tests and measurements throughout the different stages of production, interpreting the data and reporting on the findings Liaise with technical consultants, suppliers, and contractors Participate in site based, hands on, installation and commissioning tasks Qualifications Experience and Skills: Engineering Degree – electrical/electronic, process or manufacturing Experience with Automation Systems including PLC, DCS and SCADA Understands control logic and loop tuning Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation, io, etc Ability to work with third party integrators Excellent problem-solving skills Good to Have: Solid industrial health, safety, and environment knowledge Strong Computer skills (Access, Project, Autocad) Team player, collaborative mindset All candidates will undergo medical, police and drivers licence checks.
