The teaching and learning of the Indonesian Language is compulsory at Macarthur from Transition (Pre-Kindergarten) to Year 8 with elective Indonesian to the HSC, including Extension Indonesian. From time to time, depending on the timetable, this position includes teaching classes from Transition to Year 8. The Headmaster is seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator to this full-time permanent position. The successful candidates will join the highly professional, dynamic and industrious Faculty of International Languages and Cultures. Candidates for this role will be required to demonstrate: a fluency in Indonesian Language and a deep knowledge of the syllabus content; an understanding of intercultural language learning; an understanding of and commitment to student wellbeing; well-developed written, oral and organisational skills; an innovative approach to teaching and learning; a comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation; a commitment to detailed and timely feedback to students; and, a deep understanding of how students think and learn.
