New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa. Selection criteria to be addressed: Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and female (applicant’s race and gender is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 and Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and a demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and the local Aboriginal communities. Extensive recent experience in the provision of clinical services with a complex caseload, requiring advanced casework, counselling and practice skills, and demonstrated experience in working with domestic violence, post-natal depression, child protection issues, low risk suicide and child development Experience working with people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and come from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. It is essential that the successful applicant has a high level of cultural competence, significant experience working with, and has connections to, Aboriginal communities and identifies as Aboriginal person. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision. Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report on services, including identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical practice across psychosocial and multidisciplinary service delivery. Ability to practice within a Primary Health Care framework, including evidence informed interventions (such as group work/family therapy), building effective partnerships, record keeping and continuous improvement. Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management and computer Skills. Current NSW State drivers Licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving between centres in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
