About the Role: The Hyatt Regency Sydney. Swissotel Sydney & West Hotel have had their Engineering departments grouped together to form an engineering HUB that covers all aspects of engineering across the group. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations within the property maintenance department ensuring plant and equipment operate with the least amount of down time. Carry out ad hoc repairs to rooms to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum availability. Respond to requests in relation to all aspects of the built environment. Participates in the overall Hotel's Management whilst maintaining a "hands on role". The Shift Engineer will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the hotel's policies and procedures, ensuring that a high level of service is maintained. To be successful for the role: Previous experience in a senior management position within a fast paced environment is required. Formal tertiary qualifications in property, commerce, business, engineering or similar discipline preferred. Strong business acumen with demonstrated business planning experience. Demonstrated understanding of current technical legislation in relation to engineering and facilities maintenance management. Proven leadership experience managing a large team.
