  • Are you a fantastic support worker? - Regular shifts, including sleepover shifts - $42.09 p/h weekdays after induction, plus salary packaging (pay less tax) We are currently seeking an experienced support worker in the Carnegie area to provide care for a client in their early 30s with an Intellectual Disability. The ideal candidate must be available for sleepover shifts. About the Client: Our client is in the process of transitioning to an Independent Living Option (ILO) set-up with another NDIS participant. This marks their first experience living independently, and the family is seeking dedicated support to ensure a successful adaptation to their new home and the development of independent living skills. Our client is quite active and loves dancing, latin music, and going to the gym. They also have a fascination for history, and love watching cooking shows, action movies and the news. They also have a love for travelling and camping. The role involves providing comprehensive support in the following areas: - Assistance in developing and maintaining a structured routine for support shifts based on the participant's support needs. - Meal planning, cooking and nutrition. - Domestic tasks, including household cleaning chores, laundry, and grocery shopping. - Maintaining household records/ bills and developing money management skills. - Moving around the community safely and efficiently. For this role, we are looking for people to support our clients who are located in the Caulfield, Glen Iris, Windsor, St Kilda and Burwood areas. To do a great job, you'll need: - Previous experience as a support worker - Availability for sleepover shifts - Understanding of those living with an Intellectual Disability - Compassion and dedication to assisting in the client's independent living journey - NDIS Worker Screen Check, Driver's Licence - Good judgement and common sense, listening skills, a willingness to learn and a commitment to our values - Commitment to working with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals. For example, supporting our clients to complete a regular physiotherapy program.
