With operations around the world, they are looking for a talented Cloud Operations Engineer to deliver automation, code, and consulting for their Public Cloud platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for the continual availability, stability, and performance of a large-scale global e-commence platforms, along with numerous other interdependent systems while you will work closely with the Global Software Delivery Teams, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams. This role will drive cloud native technology adoption and automation practices ensuring they meet the key requirements of Cloud Operations Strategy. Key Responsibilities: Identify the root cause of problems before they have a major impact upon business process and communicating these with relevant stakeholders for resolution. Automation reduces the reliance on manual intervention for tasks via creation of tools and scripting. Actively participate in our left shifting strategy via new tools, automations, processes, and self-service functions to empower business units and other IT Teams. Delivery of stable and performant applications and cloud operations practices along with providing Level 3 Support Perform daily application releases to both online and internal systems with clear communication to stakeholders on status of changes. Provide After-Hours Support (within a shared roster). Required skills & experiences: At least 3 years' experience in an Online Systems / Web Application / Operations Support / Software Development role. Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and Public Cloud services (experience with AWS or Azure is required). Must have SQL experience and T-SQL query language exposure to NoSQL is a plus A working understanding of PowerShell/ Python or equivalent scripting language. Experience with APM Monitoring, alerting and dashboarding. Strong grasp of Automation toolsets. Exposure to Microsoft IIS Server 7.0 and above. Exposure to Microsoft Server Operating System and services. Microsoft software development technologies - .NET. Exposure to SDLC practices with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to think analytically to identify potential issues and solutions - both short term and long-term options. Ability to independently drive solutions to problems with the engagement of the wider team. Must possess strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
