Through our Regular Public Transport (RPT) routes and charters flights, we seek to support the needs of all communities within regional, rural and outback Queensland and the Torres Strait. About the role We are seeking both Casual and FIFO Aircraft Loaders to join our team based on Horn Island. You may be based on Horn Island, within the Torres Strait, or, you may be based in Cairns and are willing and able to work a FIFO roster. Due to growth, we are looking to start employment early November. Training will commence immediately Roster will be based on Flight Schedule requirements working across weekends and public holidays. Reporting to the Base Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing safe, timely and efficient loading services to all Skytrans flights, including: • Coordinating the safe, timely and efficient loading and unloading of aircraft baggage and cargo • Managing payload restrictions through liaising with operational departments (including Flight Crew and Check-In) • Providing supervision of the cabin and aircraft whilst operating on flights • Operating safely and efficiently during ‘hot turn around’ operations • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key company stakeholders • Accepting and consigning cargo (non-dangerous goods) for Skytrans flights. • Checking in passengers and baggage • Assisting with the marshalling of passengers to/from the aircraft and terminal buildings when required • Performing other Ramp Services and Ground Handling duties as required by the Base Supervisor, including cleaning offices and aircraft (external and internal) in line with Company policies and procedures What You Need to Succeed • Previous experience as a Ground Handler/Loader in the Aviation Industry is highly desirable • Physically fit and able to carry out loading • Hold a current drivers license is highly desirable • Awareness of the importance in achieving on time performance goals in an efficient and safe manner • Physically capable to perform loading duties and other manual tasks • Enthusiasm and willingness to provide exceptional levels of customer service that exceeds customers’ expectations • Capacity to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment • The ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively while handling a variety of tasks • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to safety standards within our company and industry • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions • The ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) • Conduct compulsory pre-employment and routine drug and alcohol screening for employment purpose • Must be eligible to live and work in Australia as either a citizen or hold the appropriate visa Please note: Applicants must be eligible to live and work in Australia as either a citizen or permanent resident and be able to attend and successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol pathology screening.
