What you’d be doing in this role As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. We are seeking an experienced Senior Brand Designer to join our team, with a strong background in brand design and visual storytelling. This is 3-month contract to support on one of our biggest goals - Canva Create. You’ll thrive working in a diverse team—and possess a conceptual mindset that brings fresh, inspiring ideas to life with a high level of craft. You’re a designer with a strong creative eye, capable of taking your creative from toolkit to completion keeping in step with your team. As a part of the Canva Creative Team, you’ll collaborate with multiple other teams across Canva (including Product, Leadership, and Internal Communications). Our team responds to a wide variety of briefs, engaging in brainstorming, sketching, writing, prototyping, motion, and design. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to produce impactful and cohesive brand designs across an external project to launch products, support brand campaigns, craft hype reels, and bring high-profile presentations to life. At the moment, this role is focused on: Create impactful communication design: Design assets for a range of communication brand led channels, including communication visuals, event collateral, and digital touch points to drive engagement. Visualize products and ideas: Collaborate on design concepts that bring Canva Create’s vision to life, crafting compelling visuals for products, events, and campaigns. Develop storyboards and assets: Translate concepts into storyboards, visual narratives, and polished campaign assets that resonate with our audience. Leverage a brand toolkit: Use Canva’s brand guidelines and a toolkit to ensure consistency while pushing boundaries to create fresh designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with designers, motion specialists, copywriters, and project managers to produce cohesive and high-impact creative outputs for Canva Create. Work with stakeholders: Engage with key stakeholders across the organization, including leadership, to align on project goals and ensure brand excellence.
